TaskMenu is a free, open-source macOS menu bar app for managing Google Tasks. Your privacy matters — here's how TaskMenu handles your data.

What TaskMenu accesses

TaskMenu connects to the Google Tasks API to read and write your tasks and task lists. This is the only external service the app communicates with.

Where your data is stored

All data stays on your device:

• OAuth tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain, protected by your system's security.
• Task data is fetched from Google on demand and displayed in the app. It is not cached or stored separately on disk.

What TaskMenu does NOT do

• No analytics or telemetry. The app does not track how you use it.
• No data collection. TaskMenu does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information beyond what is needed to authenticate with Google.
• No third-party services. The app only communicates with Google APIs directly. No data is sent to any other server or service.
• No ads. There are no advertisements in TaskMenu.

Google OAuth

TaskMenu uses Google's OAuth 2.0 to sign you in. During sign-in, Google may show you what data TaskMenu is requesting access to. You can revoke TaskMenu's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
